(More customer reviews)I absolutely LOVE truffles- use truffle oil, salt, and the occasional fresh truffle when I really get ambitious.I'm not sure why any company would put to market sub-standard products (at ANY price).GourmetFoodStore, a company that has a large selection of gourmet food items and seems to know their business, carries a product entitled "SUMMER BLACK FRENCH TRUFFLES- BRUSHED FIRST CHOICE".I purchased this item then, after opening and tasting it, called the company to complain about the flavor and consistency which can fairly be compared to an edible sponge rubber.I was informed by the vendor that if I wanted more flavor I would have to purchase the fresh truffles.Frankly, it appeared they knew the product wasn;t very good, but then why would they carry it??Because of other things I have purchased from them, I figured they gained some reputation points for product quality (of other items) and prompt service, so I felt that I would purchase this product, assuming it woud be a good value.Boy was I wrong!I d not anticipate purchasing from GourmetFoodStore again and would not recommend it to anyone.At the very least, they should have offered some sort of restitution for selling a poor quality product- even a small token to demonstrate empathy would have sufficed, but to suggest I make an additional purchase if I wanted "flavor", when that was precisely my expectation for this order was borderline insulting.I am an avid Amazon.com shopper, purchasing thousands of dollars in goods over the past several months, so it's not like I am new to online shopping.I just expect reasonable product quality and good customer service from those companies with which I transact business.

(More customer reviews)I ordered two of these collections for my mom and my sister for Christmas.One of the containers was missing one of the salts but after contacting the seller, they promptly sent me another one (Great Service!). The salts themselves are interesting, I love trying new stuff and so does my family.The only salt that I did not care for was the Eurasian Black Salt which had a sulpher-y eggy smell and taste which mysister did enjoy.My niece, who loves to lick some salt every now and again, loved the large crystals of the sea salt. Overall, good purchase.
