French Prunes in Armagnac Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Last year when we were in France and Spain, our hotels restaurants served wonderful 'prunes in armagnac' as one of the fruit choices with the breakfast buffet - ever since we came back to the States, I have looked for this delicious method of preparing prunes - I was very happy when I found these on Amazon - and could hardly wait for them to arrive -- Beautiful packing, the jar is reminiscent of old time canning, but imagine my dissapointment when I opened them at tried to eat one - Bitter, very bitter and pits! - The Armagnac is very pronounced, in fact I was even a little concerned about driving after I at them --
Having my only reference point as those that I had in the hotels in Spain and France, which were sweet, plump and pitted with a wonderful flavor that hinted at the Armagnac and maybe a bit of cinnamon, These are bitter, very dry and wrinkled with pits - I don't know what is specifically wrong with these but they taste terrible -- I really don't like them and haven't eaten any since the first taste -hard to throw them away as they were expensive, and the packaging is very attractive -- but I can't eat them.
